Description

Database name: theredpionnerwiki

After I closed the task I just created, I tried to log into my wiki to continue my maintenance work, but I found it impossible to do so. Then I tried logging into Meta again and found that it worked, but not on my wiki. When I go to the Create Account page, it says "The primary database server is running in read-only mode."

I didn't receive advance notice about database locking, so I would like to ask if this is planned maintenance (say the kind related to the recent upgrade to MW 1.39), or is this an unexpected event (or a bug)?

Also happening on All The Tropes. Again.

At this point, I'm more upset that we are still not being notified of these occurrences than I am about not being able to update the wiki.

This isn't a planned occurrence, the database server went down. Before, when a database server went down, it remained down until a sysadmin could restart it and unlock it/disable read-only. Now, it automatically comes back up but is in read-only mode until someone manually unlocks it, in order to ensure that no data is corrupted when the database server comes back up (MySQL databases are very easy to corrupt when shutdown abruptly). A sysadmin will surely unlock it soon.
