SpriteSheet fails to generate output
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Yesterday, I phased in the SpriteSheet extension on my wiki so that my geofictional endeavours could take advantage of its slicing features; that much I stated in my latest FTA. Testing began last night with this coastline map of Rogatia, a realm in the North Atlantic where part of a forthcoming book series of mine is set (and the end result of 15 years of protracted R&D); row and column values were set to 7 (across a 2800 × 2100 px field resulting in 400 × 300 px portions). Nothing happened after a few minutes, so before I slept away last night, I decided to switch to a raster version but couldn't afford to stay awake for the end result. Resuming almost immediately this morning, selecting "Save Sheet" leads to no output either; the spinner in the centre goes on and on.

SpriteSheet, despite being on at least a couple of other wikis, has nonexistent documentation/demos on Miraheze--and this episode is adding to the dearth when it shouldn't. (Not to mention its latest MW.org talk-page message was posted in October 2019.) Wonder what's causing it not to work in MW 1.39?

Second in this month's series of post-MW-version-upgrade bug reports filed by this contributor. Tomorrow, an investigation into lack of image or auto-redirect recognition in the "From the Author" namespace.

Hi,

I would like to start by apologizing on the project's behalf that your task was not resolved within a reasonable time. The community has now decided via RfC to merge with WikiTide and former volunteers will be returning and new ones will likely join. An event such as this one is unlikely to occur again.

Since your task has been opened for a long time, please let us know if (1) you still need it to be done or (2) if it's a bug: if it's still occurring.

NOTE: This is a mass message and not specific to any particular task.

Hi,
