A new extension (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:InterwikiDispatcher) came out earlier this year that allows for multi-level interwikis. We should consider switching to it as opposed to having a custom hook in MirahezeMagic. Needs review, but considering that Wikitide/forge use it, it most likely is fine.
