Is it possible to restrict edits to a few named users ?

@Artag Hello, sorry for the delay. Would you then like to restrict editing to a group of 'editors' and 'administrators'?

Yes, ideally only nominated users would edit it - I don't expect enough changes from other users to be worth the risk of spamming. But I don't want to put in a phabricator request for each additional editor, so if it's easier to just permit only logged-in miraheze users that's probably good enough.

@Artag If you go with @Reception123's suggestion of creating an 'editor' user group, you don't have to (like you said) create a Phabricator request to add users onto it. You can just to your wiki's Special:UserRights and grant new future editors the 'editor' user group...

...But if you like allowing all Miraheze users to edit on your wiki. It's up to you.

OK, I wasn't sure how much needs to be done through Phabricator.
That sounds fine, thanks.

revi claimed this task.

It's done. Now only approved editors can edit. (There was bit of downtime as I made a mistake)

To clarify:

  1. Go to [[Special:UserRights]] on your wiki.
  2. Enter the username you want to approve (case sensitive)
  3. Give them "Editors" right.
  4. Done!
