Extension:Moderation
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

You added the Moderation extension to "Manage this Wiki Extensions" for me yesterday and I switched it on. To be fair it didn't appear to work correctly. It didn't have the special page and nor did it seem accessible from anywhere. I went in to check to see if anything had changed and I see it is no longer in the list of available Extensions. Is it possible for you to have a look at this?

Thanks

Michaeldakin renamed this task from Extension:Moderations to Extension:Moderation.Aug 21 2018, 17:45
Michaeldakin updated the task description. (Show Details)

Moderation was removed from Special:ManageWikiExtensions because it requires critical additional configuration in LocalSettings.php in order to function correctly.

So it is a no to Moderation?

So it is a no to Moderation?

Not necessarily - it just needs to be enabled manually. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the configuration that is required to make it function properly. @John @Reception123

Thanks AmandaCath. I'll wait and see. If you are not getting demand for it off other wikis and it is a big job to set up, I appreciate it might not be worth Miraheze's time to implement. If I get it, I'll use it. If not I'll work around it :-)

Its already implemented, it literally requires someone to add a few configs, either to LS or move them to being default or to ManageWiki.

I don’t have access this week unfortunately.

@John I'm not sure why these configs need to be added, since there's already default values? Unless @Michaeldakin wants different settings

@Reception123; @John Nope, I don't want different settings to the default. This is what I put on T3502:

I have set the configuration options I would like in bold. To in reality I would like the default in every case.

Parameters for LocalSettings.php

$wgModerationEnable
Default: true
$wgModerationTimeToOverrideRejection
Default: 2 weeks
$wgModerationOnlyInNamespaces
Default (empty array): moderation is enabled everywhere
$wgModerationIgnoredInNamespaces
Default (empty array): moderation can't be bypassed anywhere
$wgModerationNotificationEnable
Default: false
$wgModerationNotificationNewOnly
Default: false

I'll close T3502 as the task is pretty much for the same thing.

@John I'm not sure why these configs need to be added, since there's already default values? Unless @Michaeldakin wants different settings

User rights aren’t assigned.

Then update it? This is MediaWiki therefore it’s your responsibility before mine.

I have stated that I am away this week. So @Reception123

AmandaCath claimed this task.

No response since the end of August. Reopen if needed at a later time.

Can't why you closed this. I'm waiting for a response. Nothing has been resolved as far as I'm aware.

@Reception123 you said above that you would do something (I can’t exactly tell what you were referring to). However, it appears that it hasn’t been done yet.

AmandaCath changed the task status from Open to Stalled.Sep 30 2018, 17:52

Blocked on @Reception123, who said they would do something regarding this but as far as I can tell have not.

That was more than a month ago, so I am not sure. I think I was referring to installing the extension?

However, could someone else please take care of it? @MacFan4000 @Paladox

I submitted a pull request: https://github.com/miraheze/mediawiki/pull/112 - updates Moderation to 1.3.20.
Running update.php is unnecessary (there were no DB schema changes).
