Description

Hi, we should decide weather to move the backups from backupsy to crowncloud (https://crowncloud.net/storage_kvm.php)

They have a limited offer so for $7/m we could get a 1tb storage node with 3 cores.

@labster what do you think?

(Also on another note, i wonder weather we should move some servers to them for increased resources)

(e.g moving misc3 to https://crowncloud.net/ssd_kvm.php for $20/m we would gain more ram (4gb))

We could even move LizardFS to the storage node (and buy 2) $7/m each. Which means we would have increased our storage by a lot (2tb).

Crowncloud is cheap but the ToS worries me a bit. Get two DMCA takedowns, your account is terminated immediately. Host any content that educates about piracy, your account is terminated immediately. (???) For backups they're probably fine, but for any other service I'd start to worry. From their ToS, I think their business model is cheap because it's based on shutdown first, ask questions later.

I'm tempted to say just get the larger server and keep more backups. It's about what we pay now. On the other hand, Backupsy has a really nice ToS for not murdering the data at the first sign of trouble, and for protecting privacy. So I'm of mixed opinion here.
