simply cannot handle importing a 3862527 byte xml file over the
network... it always fails due to browser connections, before completing.

Here's the file: https://m.jidanni.org/X.xml .

Please import it for me, remembering to first check this checkbox:

  • "Assign edits to local users where the named user exists locally"!

Imports per requests on Phabricator are done with importDump.php script, not web interface (Special:Export page), and it does not have any checkbox.
The script assigns edits to local users by default where they exist.

Thanks, but alas, as you can see on a random history, even though the user Jidanni existed, his edits were still assigned to "Imported>Jidanni‎".

OK, I created T5053 .
(You don't need to redo the import for me.
I might as well be the same as all the other wiki users,
with the "Imported>" prefixed to my earlier edits.
That way other users won't say that I used special privileges.)
