I would like to use https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RegexParserFunctions on my wiki, specifically for search and replace tasks that are too complex for the basic ParserFunctions.

Last updated 2015, only issue open mentions a security concern.

Not sure if https://github.com/Sophivorus/RegexParserFunctions is better (forked)

@Sparr: Would you be okay with us installing https://github.com/Sophivorus/RegexParserFunctions instead if it passed review? or see if any listed at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RegexParserFunctions#See_also would be better?

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:RegexFunctions would also meet my needs.
