Bootstrap extension not working properly(?)
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Bootstrap

Some months ago this extension was added to the Miraheze catalog. While I personally don't use it, when testing it didn't work. The description on the extension page is a bit ambiguous.

The Bootstrap extension provides the Bootstrap 4 web front-end framework to MediaWiki. It can be activated directly or used from skins or extensions.

I didn't found a way to activate this directly. Is there a configuration error or something else I'm missing?

I couldn't test myself on my own host, but I did download the .zip from GitHub and apparently it only has Sass files instead of compiled CSS, is that the intended purpose?

This bootstrap extension can not be activated on-wiki only by the use of PHP modifications. However there is an extension called BootstrapComponents which seems to provide this functionality.

In this case, I'd recommend replacing it, if possible (and if doesn't have any security risks). It doesn't make sense to have an extension that doesn't provide any direct functionality (probably works only with Chameleon, but we don't have that yet).

It was originally installed to work with Chameleon, but because we don't have that there's no point in it existing really. It does nothing. T2841#65856
