Idleon Custom Domain
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Wiki URL: https://idleon.miraheze.org/

Your custom domain: idleon.info

Do you want Let's Encrypt: Yes

I'm the domain owner, not the wiki owner. Please verify this request with the wiki owner if necessary.

We are currently using a URL redirect from idleon.info to the wiki URL. It would be ideal to only switch the CNAME record once the configuration on your side is complete so our users can continue to use the idleon.info shortcut in the meantime. If that is not possible for some reason please let me know.

Event Timeline

@Bluejello: You seem to be a crat on this wiki, Can you confirm the request?

@Greenitthe: If your DNS provider has a short TTL, we can agree a time for this to minimise impact.

I know Cloudflare for example takes effect in a few minutes so if we agreed on a time then the impact would hopefully only be ~10 minutes.

I demo'd the change earlier and it seemed to be ~5 min TTL, I'm fine with that suggestion.

I am available at any point today. I am in UTC-7, so let's arbitrarily say 11:00 in my time zone, 1hr 15 min from this message.

If we miss that feel free to suggest another time.

I'll get someone to confirm they can do it. If so, please just say on here or jump on IRC/discord when the switch is made.

Hi, The Sysadmin who normally handles this has had to reschedule. Sorry

No worries. What is a good time for them?

@Greenitthe I apologise for that. How would 16:00 UTC tomorrow be for you?

@Reception123 I may be able to rearrange a meeting if that is the latest possible time, though a later time between 17:00 and, say, 6:00 UTC would also be fine today/tomorrow, my morning is simply a bit busier.

That should be fine with me, 17:00 UTC would work for me.

@Greenitthe Whenever you're ready we can proceed :)

Excellent, I've just switched the record so once DNS flushes you should be good to go.

Reception123 claimed this task.

Done! You can now use your custom domain
