Redmin added a project: Upstream.

Thank you very much though MediaWiki seems to be attributing localhost for many (might be appropriate to say most actually) edits. I am aware of some upstream tasks related to this but would it be possible to do something to fix this on Miraheze's side? Thank you again.

Hello, can you please link me to a page with localhost as edit attributed?

Discoveries made on Discord (publicly in #general):

  • The XML dump I provided did not have any username, only IDs, so it is not Miraheze's fault.
  • This appears to be an issue on Fandom's end so I have emailed them.
  • We (the wiki community) are not legally required to attribute all the authors (thanks to @Dmehus and @Void for pointing that out).

Fandom's automated reply states that they are on holiday which means that I will need to wait for a long time to hear back from them. I was wondering if it would be possible to run a MirahezeMagic maintenance script to assign all the imported edits to an interwiki link to the Fandom wiki. If so, could you please do that? Thank you very much.

I don't believe our current scripts can do it like this unfortunately, nor do I know how to make one.

Due to the fact that the import was Fandom, and not Miraheze, and that there is not much else we can do here in the meantime, I'm going ahead with closing this task.

Could you please merge this pull request? I think this may let me import them without any problem from the next time..

Reclosing. This Phabricator ticket doesn't need to remain open for the linked pull request, which can be actioned independently
