Redirect failure in Risapedia
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello, I want to report a bug in the redirects of the Risapedia wiki. This bug causes the text of the links linked to a redirect to show the actual name of the page, not the linked redirect. Here is an example of the ruling: In the part that says "República de Hisqáida", it should just say "Hisqáida". I hope you help me locate the bug and resolve it. Greetings.

I believe this is an extension that causes this, although I can't remember which one.

Adding both the Extensions and Configuration projects until we confirm if this is a MediaWiki core or extension-related Miraheze-specific or upstream configuration issue, after which we can amend the projects needed.

I can say with certainty this is not core. I can also say this is not a bug, its an extension's expected functionality.

It's intended functionality. I can't find at first look which extension though is to blame.

Enabled extensions appear here. I've been checking the extensions and I still can't find the extension that produces the fault.

I believe the extension causing this is "Display Title"

I think the bug has been fixed. Disable the "Display Title" extension and most of the links with the problem were fixed.

@Anthony8IA and @Universal_Omega Wait, DISPLAYTITLE is normally part of MediaWiki core, or it's part of a core extension that should not be able to be disabled. If the latter, it would be enabled on Meta Wiki, and we've never had this problem on Meta. If the former, why do we have this extension on Miraheze when we have core functionality that accomplishes this?

Re-opening temporarily until I'm satisfied this resolved, as I have outstanding questions above. Thanks

the display title extension causes this. the user said its fixed. I know it was that based on the extensions mediawiki.org documentation page.

You're getting quite confused. The Display Title magic word and the Display Title extension aren't the same thing.

The magic word provided by core does not do this. The extension extends core functionality to make links display what the page's displayed title is set to.

Please ask if you have any more questions.

No need to say I'm getting quite confused, though. Anyway, that's all I was asking. Thanks.
