"Promises free backup of everything, forever, because some customers assumed that's what clouds do"
Does this effect us? How?

As far as I know, we have never been under the impression that there's some sort of "free backup of everything" and our backup policy has always been Bacula (which of course is very flawed atm)
The policy was only announced last night. As far as I can tell it's for everyone but it's post fire (https://mobile.twitter.com/olesovhcom/status/1371934994751500288)

I know
We maintain our own backups infrastructure to ensure a continuity of service can maintain and a peace of mind for ourselves. Any external provisions by data centres we use would have no effect on us in practical terms.
Thanks @John. I wasn't sure whether we'd care but I didn't see the point in not mentioning as it's not my job to work that out.
