Problem with importing data to the Talk:AjaxPoll namespace
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

I'm having trouble with importing content to the Talk:AjaxPoll namespace. When I try importing stuff, it completely ignores the content and acts like there's nothing there to import.

@C.Syde65 Hi, I'm a bit confused about this XML. It appears to be from https://csydes.fandom.com/wiki/C.Syde%27s_Wiki but Fandom doesn't even have the AJAXPoll extension installed.

Edit: The issues seems to be that Fandom did have AJAXPoll at some point but removed it.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that Fandom once had AJAXPoll enabled but then disabled it, something happened to the exported XML that doesn't allow it to be imported properly. There's nothing much we can do on our side.

Fandom never had an AjaxPoll namespace. I preceded all of those pages with AjaxPoll: to show that they are AjaxPoll pages.

Also what am I going to do? Because I simply have to have that stuff imported one way or another.

Don't corrupt the import when editing.

I imported the .xml file uploaded here to one of my Miraheze wikis as a test. The wiki has the AJAXPoll extension enabled, but does not have an "AjaxPoll" namespace registered. The import worked without a hitch, so I don't think it's an .xml issue.

I already mentioned this on Discord, but on C.Syde's Wiki on Miraheze, there are namespaces with the names "AjaxPoll" and "Talk:AjaxPoll". On C.Syde's Wiki on Fandom, those namespaces don't exist, so it may be a namespace issue. In this case, when importing the .xml file, try using the "Import as subpages of the following page:" option to import them as subpages of another page, then manually move them back to the correct namespaces after import.
