Is Extension:NumberedHeadings bad? Should we be using MagicNumberedHeadings instead?

Description

We use Extension:NumberedHeadings. The Extension:NumberedHeadings says that it is incompatible with MW 1.35 and recommends MagicNumberedHeadings. Both use the same magic word NUMBEREDHEADINGS, but MagicNumberedHeadings does not mention NONUMBEREDHEADINGS.

Should we be using MagicNumberedHeadings instead of NumberedHeadings?

NumberedHeadings does seem to work on 1.35 despite that notice.
