Upgrade cp1.miraheze.org to 256MB CVZ
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

cp1.miraheze.org is a cache proxy and NFS server for static.miraheze.org. cp1 has a lack of RAM (for puppet mostly) and disk space (for static content).

cp1 is currently on the 128MB CVZ plan ($15/year), with 80GB disk space, 128MB RAM, 1 CPU @ 2,30 GHz. The best upgrade is the 256MB CVZ plan ($8/qtr, so +$17/year), which gives us 256MB RAM (+128MB VSwap) and 120GB disk space.

At our current growth rate, cp1 will run out of disk space in November (and perhaps earlier, because the growth rate can increase). If the upgrade is done, we should be safe until March. [1]

Approved by me. Assigned back to SPF for implementation.

This doesn't seem like a sustainable course of action to me, as CVZ upgrades get us a proportionally small increase in disk space compared to price change. I'd like to see some sort of plan for a different approach before March.
