lcn.zfc.id.lv keeps flapping between warning and ok causing icinga spam
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I'm not sure what to do here but host lcn.zfc.id.lv is slow but I cannot reproduce running /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_reverse_dns.py -H lcn.zfc.id.lv -r "^cp[0-9]+\\.miraheze\\.org$" the flappingness.

@Void This does seem resolved to me?

lcn.zfc.id.lv. 300 IN CNAME lacrosnostra.miraheze.org.
lacrosnostra.miraheze.org. 150 IN A 51.38.69.175

Hmm, shouldn't the CNAME be to mw-lb.miraheze.org, or should that not make a difference? Either way, there seems to be something with the domain setup that is causing our RDNS health check to fail somewhat inconsistently.

Oh true, it seemed right but the first part should be different yeah, it should look like this (see below). Though I wonder how it works if it's not pointed to mw-lb but to the domain itself instead.

X 300 IN CNAME mw-lb.miraheze.org.
mw-lb.miraheze.org. 150 IN A 51.38.69.175

@Xymachos, can you please change your CNAME to

mw-lb.miraheze.org
