Hello,

I just opened another task, but it got renamed and the closed without really addressing the original problem with the user. Can you please tell me what to do?

A user has contacted me because he can't login. Apparently there was some problem with the confirmation email (or he gave the wrong address), and the user hasn't been able to logon. He created the user on June 9th, his username is Josepnogue. Can I set him up with an email, so he can reset his password?

The original task was closed because the issue was with outlook blocking mail from us so confirmation emails aren't sent. A ticket was opened with them so our local task was closed since there was nothing further we could do.

Outlook are being less than helpful. I need to reply to their automated we can't help you with some magical error message that doesn't exist.

Can one of you folks see if logs on our mail servers give anything useful?

@Amical: Please ask them to try again in 48 hours time. Additional mitigations have been applied by outlook.

Try what? To create the user again? Because the state it's in, the username already exists. I don't think he will be allowed to create it.

If he still can't login, I'll manually confirm his email so he can reset the password then. If he can get it, they'll be a resend button.

I have just confirmed with the user that he can't login, and he has tried to reset the password, with no answer. It's probably best if you confirm his email. He sent an email to sre, so you should have it.

I'll ask someone to in the morning. Unfortunately my laptop charger broke and I've not yet being able to get a working replacement.

Has Outlook been made aware of the status of the subtask (a general message would suffice)? Or have we had any other reports come in from Outlook?

I'll get in touch with them at some point today. Not that for the most part they actually read what you say to support.
