Can I make page titles case-insensitive?
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

This quote expresses what I want better than I do:

By default, MediaWiki page titles are case-sensitive. This means that “Funky Penguin” and “funky penguin” are two unique pages. This makes sense for Wikipedia, which maintains a massive and list of page names, which need to be accessible in multiple languages.

For a small internal wiki though, it’s less than ideal

Can I make page titles case-insensitive?

The instructions I could find are here: https://www.funkypenguin.co.nz/blog/make-mediawiki-page-names-case-insensitive-including-semantic-queries/#how-to-make-mediawiki-case-insensitive

Will this work on Miraheze?

Who needs to approve and implement it?

Such a collation would have to be part of the ICU Version in Debian Stable

I'm not convinced by changing stuff in the Database Collation so probably not tbh.

If it was purely php level then maybe.

There seems to be no method to do this exactly how you want on Miraheze at this time. The best that could potentially be done is non case-sensitive searches it would seem. But even that I'm not certain.
