Issues with uploading files over 100 MB
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Wiki: removededmsongs.miraheze.org

Whenever I try to upload a file that is over 100 MB, I get the 502 Bad Gateway error. If I don't click "Ignore any warnings" and try to upload the file, after it tells me that there is a file with a similar name, it gives me the 503 Backend Fetch Failed error.

I have tried many things to get this to work and nothing seems to fix it.

SRE, feel free to adjust the project tags. Though this seems to be an infrastructure issue, I'm triaging this as normal as hosting files on Miraheze over 100 MB should be rare, due to our limited system resources.

I suspect this related to similar 502 Bad Gateway timeouts I get when trying to delete or nuke a large number of pages, or other users get trying to import pages. So could be a jobqueue-related issue?

@Snowie What file are you trying to host, and is it hosted somewhere else externally, that we potentially could whitelist that domain for you and allow you to embed?

This is actually technically invalid, since it was mentioned the issue was their Internet, no action was taken by us.
