99% of images are gone on rct.wiki
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Since last week, almost all images on the RCT wiki (rct.wiki) have disappeared. Specifically, it looks like the images that were imported by the Miraheze staff during the move from Fandom have all disappeared and that only images uploaded after that are still present. The missing images constitute 99% of images on the wiki, so this is a _big_ issue for us.

I have waited a few days because I was aware of the server move, but since T8469 has been closed it seems that this issue is not temporary.

Apart from this issue, the Wiki does not seem much faster, with pages like Recent Changes taking more than 10 seconds to even begin rendering. I do not know if it is related.

Recent changes loads in less than a second for me on that wiki. Also images seem to appear for me. Though you mentioned only ones imported don't so can you please give an example link to one that doesn't work? Thank you!

To be exact Special:RecentChanges loads in 535ms (around half a second)

@Universal_Omega Just opening the front page shows a few dozen missing images, plus two images reverted to the default MediaWiki one (Balloons.png) I can’t really post links as they now directly link to the Upload form.

Some examples of missing images:

  • File:RCT1 UK.jpg
  • File:Rct2 f.jpeg
  • File:RollerCoaster Tycoon 3.jpg

Images are progressively being rebuilt and will be available again as usual. I apologise for the inconvenience caused by this side effect of the migration.

Thanks for fixing it so quickly! I completely understand that a migration like this will have some teething problems. Have a nice day!

I would like to apologise for issue as well. I was aware of the issue on one other wiki (commonswiki) to which I checked, but I did not think it had occurred on other wikis. Thank you for your understanding and we apologise for the inconvenience caused by this issue.
