ManageWiki allows creation of the "Special" namespace, breaking all special pages
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

ManageWiki allows wiki bureaucrats to create a namespace named "Special", which breaks all special pages. See https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Community_noticeboard&oldid=230846#Messed_up_the_namespace%2C_now_all_pages_are_unavailable

Event Timeline

Users can create a namespace named "Special". So it replaces it, and when you visit a special page (after replace), it appears as if it doesn't exist, and we don't know where the page goes. It's complicated because all the pages listed are just on a special page.

This is.... well not great! For the record if I attempt to create the special namespace lowercase it doesn't work, uppercase, it does.

I have fixed the issue mentioned by temporarily changing the language of it from meta, and then deleting the namespace via the new language Special:ManageWiki/namespaces.

This should now be fixed in ManageWiki, the extension just needs updated now.
