Description

Hi,

Since a little more than two weeks, the icons to access the visual editor are not displayed anymore and I'm desperately looking for a solution.
I just saw in the ticket T8943 that it could be an incompatibility of the visual editor with the latest version of the theme but I would like to know if this is also the case for me.
If so, is it possible to go back to the latest compatible version of the theme?

In addition to that, I also try to use the API with the pywikibot bot but every time I get the following error message:

WARNING: Non-JSON response received from server wikicryptos:en for url https://wikicryptos.org/w/api.php The server may be down. Status code: 200

I don't know if the two problems are related but I've been looking for a long time and I can't find a solution.

Could you please help me?

Regarding VisualEditor, as your default skin is Citizen then yes, the issue mentioned in T8943 is also the issue you are facing. It is not possible for you to rollback the skin version yourself, a system administrator would need to roll the version back across the entire farm. I'll forward this to our team to see what we can do to temporarily mitigate the issue.

As for PyWikiBot, what version are you using and what action are you trying to do?

I'm using version 6.6.5 of Pywikibot running on PAWS with python 3.8.10.
All I tried to do for the moment is to connect to the site with the pwb.py login command but I get this error message.
This message only appears when I try to connect it to my wiki. With other wikis, it works without problem.

I had this same issue with pywikibot; all I had to do was save my personal scripts, archive the old pywikibot folder, downloaded the latest pywikibot files, uninstalled my Python program, and downloaded the most recent on python 3.10, ran pip install --upgrade pywikibot on my Windows Powershell/Command prompt.
Then I did everything that is needed to be done to get pywikibot working and everything worked just fine.

Thank you, pywikibot does work on my machine, the problem was with paws. Now I just have to find a solution for the visual editor and the colors of the editing icons which have disappeared by the way

It seems Citizen has received a patch for this so now it’s just a matter of updating the skin.

@Ugochimobi Since the last update of the citizen theme, the visual editor does not work anymore and the icons that allow to access it have disappeared.
