I can't confirm the rights to the wiki in yandex webmaster (Error: The page is unavailable)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In Google Console, the rights were confirmed almost without problems (I was able to confirm the rights only after a while, but I think this is normal), in Bing Webmaster solved the problem by importing the site from Google Console. But with Yandex Webmaster of the problem and to this day (I just thought that this problem is the same as Google Console). When trying to check the entered meta tag, the error "Page unavailable" appears {F1938260}, only this reason is suitable in the Yandex help: The main page of your site redirects to another page. After reviewing the requests of other users, I saw that you can add a DNS record to the wiki, is this really so? After all, search engine optimization of our wiki in Yandex, I think, is needed, since most Russian users use Yandex.

Can you please try again, does it still happen? I was able to verify a wiki using the meta tag verification.

Adding DNS entries is typically only done for custom domains using our DNS, not for subdomains, at least historically, not to say it is impossible to do, we just haven't before, and not sure if we want to or not.

No, it doesn't work. Still the same error.

I also noticed that the meta tag has changed for some reason, although at the time of creating the request it was the same. But the replacement did not fix the error in any way.

Today when loading the rights confirmation page for some reason it was thrown to the site URL entry page. When entering the site URL, the meta tag changed again, but the error is still the same.

Wouldn't adding the DNS only be necessary temporarily for a confirmation and then once it's confirmed we can remove? If so I'd say it's fine to do.

I think so. We can do it if you want, I was just saying historically we haven't.

In that case in order to solve this I'd propose we do that. But in that case one of us would need to somehow be given access to Yandex ourselves as otherwise you'd be able to add any Miraheze website to your console.

Why can't it just do the particular subdomain? Maybe it won't for this record I guess.

Yeah I was thinking it might not be possible in the way that it's done. But if it is then even better. @Phreebutor let us know what you think

I absolutely don't understand it, but I think it's worth a try.

In that case please check the console and see where it says "DNS verification" or something of the sort and provide us with the text.

I understand you need this:

Add the following TXT record to the https://ate42.miraheze.org domain DNS:
yandex-verification: 34a0f551b499f906
Make sure that the URL of the site for which you are verifying your rights in Yandex Webmaster matches the URL of the site for which you are creating a DNS record. For example, URLs with and without the "www" prefix are considered different sites. Updating records can take a long time.
If the site is running over IPv4 and IPv6, make sure that the site responds correctly using all IP addresses.
When the DNS records are updated, click Check.

Please try now. If it still doesn't work you could try again in a few hours.

Phreebutor claimed this task.

It worked! Thank you for your help!

That's perfect! Glad we could help
