All The Tropes is also displaying "The wiki is currently in read-only mode." No fatal exceptions or other errors, though.

Thank you!

All The Tropes has been returning 502s and 503s consistently for the last four hours or so, and possibly longer (since at least approx. 8:30 AM 24 January EST).

So, wait... was the behavior before the update in some way broken or incorrect? Because approximately 18 months ago we had to go through the entire project namespace and manually protect all the pages in it after some random schmuck wandered in and decided to change a few of our policies for us. We've gotten in the habit of manually locking everyone but admins out of those pages since.
I did a little experimentation and determined that the problem is limited to our project namespace: When protecting or changing the protection level on a page in the All The Tropes namespace, all we are offered is "all users" and "all logged in users". Anywhere else in the wiki it's behaving normally.

All The Tropes is also receiving a similar error on any attempt to edit or create a page:
All The Tropes is having the same error on any attempt to edit or create a page.

Okay, thank you. Since it's not an attack, I can be patient.
I forgot to note that some attempts to login will display a message telling me that I am centrally logged in to Miraheze and all I need to do is reload the current page to be logged in to ATT. When I do so, though, I remain logged out.

All The Tropes is also suffering from 503 storms that leave all images 404 in their wakes.
If it helps, I ran into that error on All The Tropes a couple days ago when I tried to embed a link to a set of Google search results into a Flow posting. Removing the link eliminated the error. Do you have any large and/or dodgy links in what you wanted to write?

Will do. Thank you.

As of the time I first reported the issue, it affected everyone.

Yes. My only notifications not set to "web" are "⧼echo-category-title-request-declined⧽", "successful mention", "failed mention" and "login from unfamiliar device". The first three are turned off entirely; the fourth alerts me by email.

Just received word from the other affected user -- it's gone for him, too. Thank you again.
I just came back to report that about an hour after I made the change the popup abruptly stopped appearing. (Yes, I was one of the users affected; I don't know if the other is still seeing the popup yet.) Not sure why there was a lag; maybe something was cached that it took that long to replace? <shrug>
I've tried disabling "Enable VisualEditor Show Beta Welcome" and it seems to do nothing; the pop-up still appears.
That did the trick. We can cope with a few pages being stuck as wikitext. Thank you!
Thank you for the resolution, however it had to go.

Thank you. We have seen an immediate improvement today, but the search is still inexplicably case-sensitive.

It's been almost two months since we reported this issue, and more than two months that it's been happening. We've managed to get occasional success from FlowMention (an @ ping function of Flow) as well as the thanks, but that's it. Has this completely dropped off the radar?

My apologies for not clarifying after getting my access issues cleared up. Not being one of the more technical admins for All The Tropes I don't believe I have all the relevant information but I will do my best.
