Hi folks,
Mar 21 2021
Unfortunately, our provider doesn't support zone apex CNAMEs, and I assume the IP addresses for your load balancer aren't static.
Honestly, I'm not sure the society will have much call for updating its DNS records even remotely frequently. If we set you up as our NS authority, would you be able to make the zone apex route through correctly? This seems like the ideal solution at this juncture if you have the facility in place.
Otherwise, I'll either be having a chat with the domain provider to see if they can do us an HTTP 3XX (and other options) or I'll be falling back on breaking out the AWS toolkit and setting up an S3 redirect, however, that's needlessly fiddly for a set up of this complexity and only serves as a headscratcher for someone in the future!

What kind of redirect are we talking? We haven't got any systems of our own to set up a 3XX, is this something you would be able to do? I assume this will require the addition of an A record on our end.
