I spoke with John over the Christmas period and the discussion of Python v PHP came up. There is actually a fairly basic PHP library for machine learning algorithms with good model persistence which we agreed would be better to integrate than using Python as that would involve transmitting data across the web, while we could entirely integrate this into the code using a PHP library.

If it helps, the scope of this task is purely the implementation of such a system - not necessarily the enabling of such on Miraheze - but making enabling technically possible.

Not a lot for me to do, it's a tool which SRE is operating externally. They're aware of appropriate access requirements for sensitive data.

Considering this, it is likely the implementation method is going to be creating a web-interface which is able to accept input parameters, where the extension can make web requests and receive a score or response to process.

I wouldn't forsee any private information being released. As exposing private information to people who are not yet part of Miraheze alone would be poor practise.
