There are still issues which prevent many images from showing.

Sorry to ask, but when will they be added to the whitelist?

The task is updated. We request an extension/parser function to resize external images, so we could fix hundreds of broken images. Thank you.

It is completely broken again. No preview is shown when you hover over an article link or a footnote (reference).

It has not been resolved yet. Those two image hosting sites haven't been whitelisted.

Thanks for the pointer. The popups finally show up but it does not work like what English Wikipedia does. It shows literally the first line which may fail on some articles when they put templates or other codes before the first paragraph. It is not an issue on English Wikipedia.

If I get it right, it just whitelist *.google.com, but not google.co.uk, google.com.hk, googleusercontent.com etc.

@Reception123 That would be a big issue. This renders those options (to allow external images) practically useless.

I changed the value to "Pages" in Special:ManageWiki/settings under "Edit". I have waited for a day. There is no effect at all. Pages still don't show up in category trees.
